PURPOSE OF THIS PRIVACY NOTICE

This privacy notice aims to give you information on how the Schneider Group collects and processes your personal data through your use of this website, including any data you may provide through this website.

This website is not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect data relating to children.

It is important that you read this privacy notice together with any other privacy notice or fair processing notice we may provide on specific occasions when we are collecting or processing personal data about you so that you are fully aware of how and why we are using your data. This privacy notice supplements the other notices and is not intended to override them.

This privacy notice is issued on behalf of the Schneider Group so when we mention "Schneider ", "we", "us" or "our" in this privacy notice, we are referring to the relevant company in the Schneider Group responsible for processing your data. We will let you know which entity will be the controller for your data when you contact us and/or engage our services. Schneider Investment Associates LLP is the controller and responsible for this website.

In most cases we will be the Data Controller as we determine the purpose and manner in which your personal data will be managed and used.

We respect your right to privacy and are committed to complying with applicable data protection and privacy law. We will only collect personal information about you with your awareness and permission.

At any time you have the right to withdraw your consent for the processing of your data. Please be aware whilst you can request to withdraw your consent it will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

Any personal information which you provide to us and/or which we obtain about you, will be kept confidential and secure using appropriate technical measures and by ensuring staff are continually trained and are aware of how to protect your data.

What data do we collect?

We collect data about you when you register with us or when you contact us and provide us information voluntarily. Website usage information is collected using web server logs.

Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data).

If you fail to provide personal data

Where we need to collect personal data by law, or under the terms of a contract we have with you and you fail to provide that data when requested, we may not be able to perform the contract we have or are trying to enter into with you (for example, to provide you with our services). In this case, we may have to cancel a product or service you have with us but we will notify you if this is the case at the time.

Where is your data kept?

The information we receive is handled and processed by our staff who are located in the UK; however we store information in the cloud and in an offsite server located in Europe. No third party will have access to your personal data unless the law permits them and we will take steps to give exactly the amount of data required only.

How is your personal data collected?

We use different methods to collect data from and about you including through:

  • Direct interactions. You may give us your Identity, Contact and Financial Data by filling in forms or by corresponding with us by post, phone, email or otherwise. This includes personal data you provide when you:
    • apply for our products or services;
    • request marketing to be sent to you;
    • give us some feedback.
  • Automated technologies or interactions. As you interact with our website, we may automatically collect Technical Data about your equipment, browsing actions and patterns. We collect this personal data by using server logs and other similar technologies.

How we use your personal data?

We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:

  • Where we need to perform the contract we are about to enter into or have entered into with you.

Generally we do not rely on consent as a legal basis for processing your personal data other than maybe in relation to sending third party direct marketing communications to you. Who your information might be shared with?

Handling special data

The e UK GDPR and applicable data protection legislation defines special category data as being more sensitive thus it needs more protection. Due to the nature of our business we might be required to hold and process some of this data. The categories which we could potentially process include (but not limited to): race, ethnic origin, politics, religion, health, sex life or sexual orientation.

Please be aware we will not require this information unless it is pertinent to your individual circumstance and the service we will deliver to you.  We will only process special category data where permitted by applicable law, including where you have provided explicit consent or where processing is necessary for legal or regulatory purposes

Length of time we will keep your data

We will keep your personal information for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, to provide you with services and to conduct our legitimate business interests or where otherwise required by law.

To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.

Currently we keep your personal information for a minimum of 6 years after which time it will be destroyed. If your personal information relates to deeds we will keep the information for a minimum of 12 years.

Marketing

We would like to send you information about products and services of ours and other companies in our group which may be of interest to you. If you have consented to receive marketing, you may opt out at a later date.

 You have the right at any time to opt out of receiving marketing communications from us. Any sharing of your personal information within our group companies will be carried out only in accordance with applicable law and for internal administrative or marketing purposes. Time limit to respond

We try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. Occasionally it may take us longer than a month if your request is particularly complex or you have made a number of requests. In this case, we will notify you and keep you updated.
